Over the last few years we have been delighted to spend time with Suzie Howell, a photographer based in London. Suzie came to us to explore her own questions around place, presence and absence in her art. The resulting collection features photographs taken at Tymawr, (and you may spot our faces, hands and habits here and there), but Suzie’s work is more than a record of the community in this moment; she uses it to ask questions, and to offer up the possibility of something beyond us – liminality, possibility and hope.
Suzie’s final project, entitled ‘a bowl of tears to drink’ (a line from the psalms) has been featured in a number of places, including Vogue Photography. She has now released a book with Oval Press, which can be ordered here for those interested. We give thanks for the gift of Suzie’s creativity, kindness and questioning camera lens, and look forward to seeing the final project!
