Help us continue to maintain this place of prayer
The vocation of the Tymawr community is to be a hidden presence of the loving mercy of God in a world that is broken and thirsting for healing and reconciliation. We live simply and are actively engaged in reducing our carbon footprint with a programme to replace oil for heating rooms and water and transport. The house, gardens and land are managed sustainably to enhance wildlife habitats, without using synthetic products.
The Sisters extend a warm welcome to all guests. They are however self-supporting, and rely on the generosity of guests and friends to maintain the life of this Community by Donations, Legacies and contributions to the Bursary Fund to help guests unable to meet the full cost of accommodation.
Donations
All contributions to maintain this house of prayer are welcome.
To donate via monthly direct debit, debit/credit card or PayPal: please see our People’s Fundraising page. You will also have the option to Gift Aid your donation here.
To donate by cheque: please make the cheque payable to “Society of the Sacred Cross” (please use this exact name; our bank will not accept variants) and send it with your Gift Aid Form (if applicable) to Finance Officer, Society of the Sacred Cross, Tymawr Convent, Lydart, Monmouth NP25 4RN.
Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a Government scheme to enable charities to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, as long as you’ve paid the basic rate of tax and make the donation from your own funds. The Government Gift Aid scheme enables us to increase the value of your donation by 25%, at no additional cost to you. Gift Aid is important for charities and means millions of pounds extra go to the charity sector.
Legacies
Leaving money in your Will is a generous and lasting way in which you will contribute to the future life of the Convent. If this is your wish, you should talk to your solicitor and beneficiaries and take the necessary steps to leave money to the Society of the Sacred Cross when you die.
Bursary Fund
We invite you to support the Bursary Fund, by giving a PLEDGE of £100 (or more) to be used solely to fund a bursary for someone unable to meet the full cost of a Retreat at Tymawr. Your pledge will not be called in unless it is needed to fund a bursary. To support the Bursary Fund please complete this form (click to expand).
