Each Quiet Day begins at 10.00am with coffee (Terce at 9.30am is optional), followed by our speaker for the day and time for rest and prayer before the midday Eucharist. After a ‘bring your own’ lunch, our speaker will lead the afternoon session, which will end with Vespers at 3.45pm. There is no charge for the day but donations are welcome. Exploring Bonhoeffer’s understanding of the demand of Jesus that we obey his command to follow him and the implication of this in resisting power and possessiveness in our personal and corporate life – even a wake-up call.

Martin Shaw is an assistant Bishop of the diocese of Exeter. Throughout his adult life he has been associated with the Society of St Francis. He regards music as an important part of the journey into the inner life.
