Jewish perspectives on the material world

The talks will examine both biblical and post-biblical Jewish approaches, from the Torah to the Kabbalistic and Hasidic traditions, exploring how themes like divine Wisdom and the divine Shekhinah are used to make sense of our relation to the physical universe.

Rowan Williams, is a theologian and poet, Warden for the Society of the Sacred Cross, and author of Christ The Heart of Creation.

. . . with the matter of the world Each Quiet Day begins at 10.00am with coffee (Terce at 9.30am is optional), followed by our speaker for the day and time for rest and prayer before the midday Eucharist. After a ‘bring your own’ lunch, our speaker will lead the afternoon session, which will end with Vespers at 4.00pm. There is no charge for the day but donations are welcome.
